Dip powder nails are growing in popularity for three reasons. First, a dip powder manicure lasts longer than acrylics or shellac or even gels. Second, it’s less expensive and easier to do your own dip powder nails at home than to use comparable products. And third, dip powder has no noxious odor and is less damaging to your nails.

1. Gelish Acrylic Powder Nail Dip Basix Kit
The Gelish Basix Kit includes all the liquids you’ll need to perform a dip powder manicure. It comes with prep, base coat, activator, topcoat, and brush restorer. Then choose your favorite Gelish dip powder, too.
The liquids have no harsh odor and don’t require a lamp to dry. Furthermore, a Gelish dip powder manicure should last up to two weeks without chipping.
2. Gelish French Tip Acrylic Power Dip Nail Kit
Gelish also offers a kit with all the ingredients for a French manicure. It comes with nail surface cleanser, activator, prep, base coat, topcoat, brush restorer, a mold, a nail file with two grits, and four dip powders.
To begin your manicure, prepare your nails by pushing back cuticles and buffing the surface. Then apply the prep liquid and let it air dry. Next, pour the dip powders into the dual-sided mold.
Now paint a thin layer of the base coat to the lower three-quarters of one nail. Then dip the tip of the nail into the powder. This should create a “smile line”. Tap off the excess powder and apply a second coat of base coat over the entire nail. Dip again into the powder.
With a soft brush to remove any excess powder. Then apply the activator liquid and wait 20 seconds. After that, you can apply the base coat to seal the nails. Once you buff with the included nail file, it’s time to apply the activator again.
Finally, paint on two thin layers of topcoat and let it dry for five minutes. If you desire, you can rub the Nourish oil into your cuticles, too.

8. Dipping Nail Starter Kit, Easy Acrylic Powder and Gel Resin Kit by Dipwell
Dipwell’s starter kit includes enough powder to last for up to 30 French manicures. And each manicure should last 3 to 6 weeks without chipping. Most likely your nails will grow out before their finish wears off.
Inside the box, you’ll find bonder, base, activator, sealer, and brush softener. Plus there’s also base and finish essential powder, Sheer Pink, and French White powders.
Dipwell offers the following instructions. First, shape and buff your nails and push back cuticles. Then make sure to sanitize your hands and nails before application. Next, apply a coat of bonder liquid to all nails and allow 10 seconds for it to dry. After that, paint the base coat onto the bottom half of the nail with strokes out to the tip. Rapidly dip each nail halfway into the Base & Finish Essential Powder.
Next, remove excess powder with a clean brush. Now paint another thin layer of base coat over the entire nail, but only dip the tip at a 45° angle into the white powder. This creates a smile line. Immediately sprinkle pink powder onto the rest of the nail where the base coat is still damp.
After you use a clean brush to sweep off excess powder, repeat the above steps to build another layer. Finally, apply an additional coat of the base liquid to the entire nail. Then dip the entire nail into the Base & Finish Essential Powder.
Once you apply a coat of activator, the powder and base liquids harden without the need for a UV lamp. Then shape and buff the nails and apply one or two coats of sealer liquid. The manicure is complete!
